Professional Acting tips to build your confidence in front of an audience
Rather than putting yourself at the mercy of Force Fidget Freeze, or putting your concentration where it needn’t be -
Start to think about how you can anchor yourself…put yourself in a natural position of rest and readiness.
If you’ve ever played sports, or put yourself through rituals to get ready for exams, then it will reassure you to know that exactly the same thing is happening here.
My favourite anchor is to get to the venue in plenty of time and walk on the stage.
I like to get my props or my cards clear and ready.
I do a vocal and physical warm up.
If there’s a fight call - you do that - even if you’ve done the show a thousand times, you still do the fight call…not at full pelt…and that’s so that…you create muscle memory.
So any practise that you already have can contribute towards you performing.
